Microgen® Strep latex test

A rapid test for the confirmatory identification of Streptococci of Lancefield Groups A, B, C, D, F and G from culture plates. Most strains of Streptococci which have been isolated from human infections possess group
specific antigens. Identification of the organisms includes extraction and characterisation of these antigens from organism grown in culture. The use of specific antisera combined with an enzyme extraction method provide a speedy and reliable typing system for Streptococci.
